“All women are Isis”: La figura de Isis en The Sea Priestess (1935) y Moon Magic (1956) de Dion Fortune

Resumo


: O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a receção da figura da deusa Ísis em dois romances da escritora e ocultista Dion Fortune, que nos dá uma visão da divindade egípcia passada pelo crivo de várias fontes greco‐romanas (principalmente, Apuleio e os textos herméticos) e modificada, em última instância pelas correntes esotéricas do século XIX, especialmente a Sociedade Teosófica. Será, assim, possível comprovar como alguns autores ocultistas reelaboram certos motivos da Antiguidade e os adaptam para os vincularem à sua ideologia, neste caso, a feminista.
